LPA develops into Tropical Depression Dindo

The low pressure area east of Taiwan has developed into Tropical Depression Dindo, PAGASA said Sunday evening.

In its 11 p.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, the state weather bureau said that Dindo is currently "unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country," and no storm signals have yet been hoisted.

The center of the tropical depression is estimated to be 560 km northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. Dindo is moving west at 20 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h, PAGASA added.

Dindo is expected to intensify and become a tropical storm by Monday, but is also forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next 12 hours. — BM, GMA Integrated News
